200 Before 30

It is January 3 2020. The start of a new decade. In celebration, Amy and I looked back at our goals and we realized that I have passed my last 100 before 22 (turned 23 in 2019). Thus, we decided to start a new list that is longer and reflects what I hope the next 7 years will look like for me.

7 signs you are in a toxic friendship (and what to do)

I'm going through my twenties and my oh my when adults say its the time of change, boy do they mean it. The past year - first year out of college, first job, first real life challenges - has matured me more than the last 22 years have. One of the hardest obstacles I had to face was friendships changing, evolving and how I can keep them alive. I went through the same thing when I first got to university with my high school friends - somehow that process wasn't bad at all. I still have a good hand-full of my high school friends on speed dial and I know their lives well enough. But getting my first job, going through our first hard break ups, going through big sh** happening in our lives really hit me like a brick. I started to realize that everyone I held so dear to my heart might not be good for me after all. This might be the last 'spring cleaning' or so to say for my friendships because as work gets more and more unreasonable friendship starts to fall on your to-do list.

Over the last two months or so, a huge change came upon me and one of my very dearest, bestest friend - someone I consider family, someone I would not hesitate to call my future-bridesmaid, someone I honestly thought would be sitting in a rocking chair in the house next door as we plan when our grandchildren will be coming to visit - change the game and broke my heart. I won't get into details but her actions made me reconsider our entire friendship and evaluate what it is that I need and desire in a friend. As I was doing this I came across great articles and research on the topic of friendship. I thought I would give my two cents on what are some signs you are in a toxic friendship -- and ultimately how I got out.

Amy X TED Talks

I am sure you've all heard, seen or been to a ted talk conference. TED - technology, environment and design - the "ideas worth spreading" foundation asks specialists of all kinds to do talks and inspire and educate people all over the world. There have been curated Ted Talks on their website but I've tried to watch say their 6 videos in a row but honestly there is one great video with a few good but not great ones.

So I've decided to find my own. Amy's favorite Ted Talks. Please realized I'm a very random person, I love learning about business and how to improve myself professionally. I also studied psychology so anything to do with the human mind, human choices or anything where I can learn more about humanity, I am so interested. I am also just a forever student. Anything I don't know, I want to know. I want to broaden my knowledge as much as I possibly can.

So here are my top 5 (obscure but amazing) Ted Talks:

Decor Suggestions: Mugs'R'Us

Dear Friends,

Its been a while since we've talked. I hope we are the kind of friends that can still be besties even when we lost touch for a while. Some good news first, I found a job! This busy time makes blogging a little hard... but I promise to try and be more proactive.

My sister also has a huge news. Promise to share soon!

So I've been in my apartment for about four months. My mom warned me if I don't decorate in the first month, I will never decorate again. I told her, over the year, I will still decorate slowly and make this home the most chic and glam I can.

As always... I was wrong.

Obsession: Kiss Me Organics' Organic Matcha

Hello my fab darlings, it's time for a new segment we like to call "obsessions". The idea is very simple, we like stuff and we share it with you guys cuz we love you guys~

Here it goes...

Lately, I've been really into organic food and trying to make whatever I can out of my mini fridge and the community microwave (yes, I am too lazy to walk down to the dining hall). Thus, when the opportunity came for me to try out Kiss Me Organic's Organic Matcha, well I am all about the free food (but don't worry, my opinions come from the stomach/heart well they're basically the same thing, right?)

Decor Suggestions: Singing in the .... shower?

Hello Friends :)

I've officially moved back! Now its home decor magazines all the way! (is this what it feels like to get engaged? then I am more than excited!)

What makes a house livable is obviously the big furniture, the important appliances but what makes a home home is definitely in the details. Even the plates or cups you choose to buy. Or what painting to go up on the walls. It's the little things. And those are exactly the things that make me most excited about!!

Life Motto

I moved back to my old town. My old life. My old routines.
But it feels like a few chapter.
I am living in a new apartment.
I'm finding a new job.
I'm doing everything I can to reserve the life I have but it feels like it isn't enough.
I think I need new things in my life, new friends, new routines.
and I think fashion is a way to start.

DECOR SUGGESTIONS: GALLERY ART

Hello Lovely Darlings,
A simple touch of class and art
to make you new home that much more elegant.
I personally don't have money for works from Monet or Picasso
But some cute gallery art can definitely spice up a living room!

Obsession: Glam ST APP

I hope you enjoyed decluttering, and now I am ready to share with you an interesting APP I had the chance of coming across.

The idea is to try on makeup at the comfort of your own home and as a huge supporter of online shopping (and sephora is just sending me wayy to many emails to not take a look and perhaps buy yet another lipstick) this is a great invention!

Decor Suggestions: Good Morning, Beautiful

Hello friends of the blogosphere,

As I've proclaimed so loudly, I'm moving back to TORONTO!
Its gonna be a journey and because I'll be moving away from my family, I'll be really hitting the road to adulthood with my own apartment.

This got me super inspired.
I'm sure lots of us are out there trying to build the most gorgeous apartments with our starter salaries, so I thought it would be fun to see some small adjustments you can make to build the Charlotte (from sex and the city's) apartment.

So I know we've missed a few of these, So this one is gonna be extra extra huge...

It's become a fad.
There are a lot of people who see the glamour of blogging
and lots of people considering blogging as a hobby.
I came across this quite inspiring infographic, so I thought I should share.

Let's Eat Cake (or Bake it..)

Today is a monumental day. I have taken a leap towards adulthood and I want to share it with all you lovelies.

Life Motto

Hyperbiotics

With the constant stress of daily life, we often neglect the importance of health and expect great results from eating fries after burgers after milkshakes, etc., etc. Don't worry, I am also guilty of this. With the workload between blogging, college, and just life, itself, I often forget to treat my body as the temple it is ;)

No, but seriously, let's give our body some love.
