Where: 83 Chang Shu Lu (Near Julu Lu), 4th Floor 常熟路(靠近巨鹿路)八十三号,四楼
Why: As a CBC (Canadian born Chinese) one of the things I miss the most from Toronto is American style Chinese food - the good, greasy, salty and sweet delicious and incredibly unhealthy food that I crave. This place serves exactly what I need, nuff said.

Hey guys! It's the beginning of November and that means it's time to look back at the month of October... in instagram photos of course!

Bubblegum's Finds: Haiku

Haiku

When: Daily, 11.30-2pm 5.30-10pm
Where: Various Locations. This store in particular is located in IFC Shanghai. B1/F, 8 Shiji Da Dao, near Lujiazui Huan Lu 世纪大道8号, 国金中心IFC商场B1楼, 近陆家嘴环路
Why: Cause who doesn't love sushi? And who doesn't love NEW styles of sushi?! It is taking an old classic and making a twist. All the rolls have cute names and are pretty delicious! They even have an "Amy Roll" and I've tried it and Amy is delish ;)

Bubblegum Finds: Dazzling Cafe

WHEN: Daily 11:30 am to 9:30 pm
WHERE: SML Center, 1st Floor, No. 618 Xujiahui Road, Shanghai
WHY: The cutest cafe I have ever seen and dang delicious bread dessert! I know, I know how can bread be amazing? When it is covered in ice cream, honey and yummy fruits. The waiters are also in super cute maid outfits!

10 Things I Hate About Shanghai

First off, before people start getting defensive, I love this city. I have lived here for 5 years but just like any long term relationship, resentment will bubble up and sometimes you got to let it out. What can I say? Shanghai, you have your issues.

Bubblegum Finds: Prince and Princess KTV/王子公主奇遇记主题KTV

Prince and Princess KTV

王子公主奇遇记主题KTV

WHEN: Daily 8 am - 11 pm
WHERE: Minhang District, 2372 Dongchuan Road, 3rd Floor of Sky Hotel
WHY: Everyone loves to sing whether in a shower or with your friends. This KTV takes it to a whole level, with princess and cute disney themes. The servers are all dressed in cute costumes and everyone is so happy. The price is cheap and its really a great time for anyone whether you are the next Beyonce or not ;)

Real, living parrots!

Bubblegum's Finds: XinWang

WHEN: Daily 7:30 AM to 11:30 PM
WHERE: Several Stores (Kerry Parkside in Pudong, Shanghai)
WHY: The store had great simple but colorful decorations that I really enjoyed. I appreciated the factory-like, metal furniture and they had really nice light fixtures. The servings were great for the price (inexpensive) and the asian food was quite authentic.

The food was good and arrived timely. However, the service was not wonderful (understaffed) and waiters had the unpleasant attitude that is often seen in Shanghai. One thing I love about this restaurant is that it also has an adorable add-on bakery with a delicious assortment of breads (lots of authentic Canto food).

If you're planning on visiting this lovely city, I would recommend this restaurant for its good food and great prices! Comment down below if you've ever been or if you have any restaurant recommendations for us.

Mini Review:
Food: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5
Price: 5/5
Atmosphere: 4/5
Overall: 15.5/20

High School Graduation (My First and Very Last)

Hey My Lovely Readers!
For all of you who don't know, I was a high school senior and I have recently just graduated (wooo #classof2014). But honestly, out of the whole ordeal, I can't say I actually feel any different and I guess life will start changing when I actually move to Michigan (Tell me how to survive the cold...) and actually start college. But for now, here are some pictures from my graduation.

Isn't the revenue gorgeous? If you were a graduate (high school or college), comment down below how your graduation was! If you just want a pen pal, comment down below so we can be friends! If you found the last picture too blue, well too bad, life is not perfect (jk, someone accidentally switched the camera settings).
Love,

typhoon day!

hey darlings!
so it's been a pretty hectic week. It was October break but instead of having a nice relaxing week, I had sat cram class all day, everyday. It was crazy! Then on Saturday I took my sat (for the last time, hurrah). BUT the best part of my week was that night when I got to go to BEIBERS CONCERT. yeah, that's right, I'm a belieber.

I know there's a spectrum from hate to love for Beiber but honestly, he was very professional. He was not late or drunk or high. He was also a great singer and he really developed that potential everyone saw on YouTube. anyways, it was an amazing concert.

So, now it's Monday and I'm suppose to have school but god listened to my prayers and it's a typhoon day! An extra day of vacation? hell yeah!

how has your week been? keep me updated on the comments below.

Back To School (Stationary Haul)

Hey darlings!
Just to let you guys know, I am absolutely, 100% so sorry for being inactive for a few days. For those of you who don't know, I live in Shanghai and Amy lives in Toronto. This summer, I decided to visit her in Toronto and while it has been wonderful, I had to come back home before school started. So basically for the past few days, I have been either on the plane (13 hour flights, boo) or super jetlagged and just wasn't really in the mood to post. Anyways, I'm slowly shifting back to my normal schedule and I'm ready to post my heart out!

It's now in August, and that means one thing, it's time for school again. Whether you read that and sighed or smiled, it doesn't matter because we all have to prepare for the soul-wrenching, eight-hours of misery. On the plus side, as you all know, this will be my senior year. While many covet being a senior, it also comes with certain responsibilities such as being awesome and respected by freshmen. So, I decided that unlike other years, I was gonna prepare myself. How you ask? Well, obviously by buying my school supplies early so that nobody will have the same ones as me and I can find the absolute cutest ones (especially japanese mechanical pencils, I am an asian girl after all).

So while I do want chic stationary, I didn't wanna spend a buttload of money on it. Thus, the 3 Subject Notebooks, the Binders, the plain folders, and the ducky pins are from the Dollarama. Altogether they were less than $20 and a definite steal. The kitty folder is from Walmart and the Bic pens is from Shoppers. As for the mechanical pens/pencils and floral masking tape, they're from Japan (courtesy of mommy dearest). Last but not least, the 'for really big mistakes' eraser (my proudest/most expensive buy) is from Chapters. While the original price was $4.99 there was a 10% discount (score!) Also, it's about the size of my hand, so I doubt I'll ever run out of erasers anytime soon.

Overall, I think I spent less than $40 and I definitely had a blast finding all of my stuff. I think this haul was pretty successful and I can't wait for school to start so I can use all my new pens. One thing I do regret was not buying an agenda. While the school does offer free ones, the ones from Chapters were so much cuter (and expensive). But anyways, I'm happy with my haul. What do you think? Are you excited for school? Please leave any comments down below.
