So I've decided to find my own. Amy's favorite Ted Talks. Please realized I'm a very random person, I love learning about business and how to improve myself professionally. I also studied psychology so anything to do with the human mind, human choices or anything where I can learn more about humanity, I am so interested. I am also just a forever student. Anything I don't know, I want to know. I want to broaden my knowledge as much as I possibly can.
So here are my top 5 (obscure but amazing) Ted Talks:
1. Rives: The 4 a.m. Mystery
Really weird yet such an interesting results for a hobby. Sometimes life works in mysterious ways. This talk doesn't really increase your knowledge or teach you something new but it honestly makes you think about life.
2. Majora Carter: Greening the Ghetto
I first watched this ted talks in class at University of Toronto. He was a cool teacher and the class to be honest was an easy A for me and I thought I am not a strong environmentalist so the class wouldn't effect me much. But watching Majora talk about her life, her fights and her struggles you can only feel passionate about this topic with her. You can only want to help her out. You can only say she inspires change. I am not saying that since seeing this talk I've made major changes to my lifestyle but I would like to think she made a difference. Even if its awareness. Enjoy.
3. Amy Webb: How I Hacked Online Dating
I know this is a controversial title and I'm sure the guys out there are thinking I am crazy. Love is spontaneous and isn't something you can control. But if you've ever been burned by someone you loved so deeply, something you think if love is worth it. Why can't you take it into your own hands. How is its not like a career move. You want the best career, people tell you to do what it takes and change your game. You tell someone you want to find the one, the best advice they give you is to stop looking and love will find you. I love Amy Webb because she decided, she needs to do what it takes and change her life. Spoilers: she did.
4. Simon Sinek: How Great Leaders Inspire Action
This one is just too relevant to my life recently. As you all know, I am pretty blessed, I have a full time job after graduation. I know not a lot of people have the great opportunity and the luck to be as blessed as I am. A bunch of my high school friends graduated and decided starting their own start-up might be the best way to accomplish their dreams. I've recommended this ted talk more than once to more than one person. I think it hits home.
5. Maysoon Zayid: I got 99 Problems... Palsy Is Just One.
Just to end my choices, this is such a light-hearted but also incredibly powerful talk.
Just letting you guys know, I am such a nerd. Sometimes I enjoy going home and just sitting and watching ted talks. I love learning, but don't like the idea of tests or phd. I just want to be a forever student and learn what the world has to offer.
